Colour and maslow.

I have decided to further look at items of a magazine. obviously colour is a key convention of a magazine and each one has its own scheme. I decided in looking at ways to help me decide what my schemes could be and other colours that could be useful.

Another piece I looked at is Maslow. After doing two years at GCSE in media, I was slightly familiar with Maslow. Although as I'm due to create a larger piece of work I thought it would be suitable to look at it on a bit more of a larger scale and discover a bit more about its purpose and its relationship with media.

 

Double page spread analysis.

Here I have took two double page spreads and have analysed similarities and differences. I have noted that there is a similar houststyle for hip hop and sure enough it has folded over into the double page spread too. colours always seem to be the same and also the image tends to be the main talking point of the page. the articles are very similarly constructed into an alignment on the opposite side of the image. further detail in my analysis

Contents analysis-

After looking at three different genres, (front covers) I noticed there was a very unique house style to each genre. Therefor having recently decided my genre I didn't think it would be to beneficial to look at each genre further. I have looked at three hi hop based content pages. through this I noticed a similarity between the image, lay out and colouring.

Further analysis-

Here I have done some further analysis into my now chosen genre, hip-hop. these two front covers were both mainstream magazines and well know. I done this to try and create an image in my head of what a normal hip hop magazine will look like.

I have done an overview of my target audience. I have included how I wish to address them and what I am going to be doping with this information.

Here is a video presentation consisting of three music genres I have analysed.

In each slide I have wrote about the house style of each genre, RnB, hip hop and pop music.
This was done to help me get comfortable with music magazines out today and also help me pick my genre I will study. From looking at these magazines I can also see that they all are specific to there target audience and contain relevant information. I chose these three genres as they are all similar to my taste in music however all have there own individual spin offs. From looking at the three covers I was able to familiarise myself with the components of magazine front covers so that when I come around to create my own, I have a generic idea of what it should consist of.
